The President of the Assembly Talat Xhaferi today sent a video greeting to all citizens on the eve of the New 2022.
Dear citizens, The New Year is almost on the doorstep and now that we are sending off the Old I must admit that I am looking forward to it with impatience and a huge dose of optimism that 2022 will not be in any segment like this. Unfortunately, we can not say that it was easy, nor successful. On the contrary, it was a difficult, full of challenges, obstacles, the saddest of all years, in which, in parallel with the health, economic and mental health damage on a global level caused by the covid-19 pandemic, Xhaferi said.
The President of the Assembly reminded that this year our country was affected by huge tragedies in which, as he said, we lost our dear fellow citizens and that left pain and bitter taste in all of us.
– This year we had regular local elections, after which there was a period of uncertain political life in the country, which in turn caused partial functionality of domestic institutions. The Legislative House also functioned within the imposed health protocols due to which we remained closed for your visits and the imposed rules of procedure for work during election activities. “We focused on transparency, accessibility and strengthening the oversight role of the Assembly in order to be closer to you, so that the political dialogue can take place here in the Legislative House,” Xhaferi said.
It is important, as he said, that the political dialogue, the cross-referencing of arguments and the battle to change and improve the legal provisions to facilitate the lives of our citizens take place here, within the home of democracy.
Xhaferi in a video greeting card says that all of us are united by the Republic of Northern Macedonia and that we must build relations for mutual trust, respect between us inside and outside with our neighbors.
-To invest selfless effort and to overcome the limits that limit us. Then we will succeed. Be alive, healthy and successful, said the President of the Assembly Xhaferi.
