The former Minister of Culture is pure as a tear, he said the president of Alternative, Afrim Gashi tonight in the Diary of Sitel TV, regarding the request from the Anticorruption to be initiated by the Prosecutor’s Office criminal proceedings forand the former Minister of Culture, Husni Ismaili, who is suspected of abusing his official position and powers and damaging the state budget in the post-election period.
Ismaili is part of the Alternative party and has been nominated for Vice President of the Assembly.
– That is not true at all, this is a very indicative initiative started by political structures, completely politicized. I claim that Husni Ismaili is pure as a tear, I trust him more than myself. So I claim with full responsibility that this man has not done anything irresponsible and dishonest. “If something like this is found, I will resign from politics,” Gashi said.
Asked how they will function in the local government, Gashi said that their position is that at the local level the problems of the citizens are different and they want to remain loyal to those coalitions. He explained that they had a coalition with the Alliance for Albanians, while with VMRO-DPMNE only cooperation to support the candidates in some municipalities.
“Until the cooperation is terminated unilaterally, Alternative will remain part of the positions it held before the local elections,” Gashi said.
The president of Alternative, however, sees an opportunity for re-cooperation with these parties for some next elections.
– Political parties in Macedonia should not be barricaded in political trenches, they should communicate, there should be different coalitions, cooperation at different levels. But it should be done on the basis of principled criteria and policies that are to the benefit of all citizens. I am trying to improve the political culture in the country, I think that is healthy for the whole political reality in the country and only then can we move forward. “Otherwise, with insinuations, buried in political trenches, we will only strengthen the hatred between the citizens, and nobody needs that,” Gashi said.
