Stopping the tender for BRT I see it as a personal animosity of the new mayor towards what has been done by the previous city administration. There is practically no good reason to cancel this project, but there is no good reason why Skopje should continue to develop as it started – with public transport consisting of dysfunctional lines on city buses and even more dysfunctional lines of private carriers. Worst of all, Arsovska has no plan or idea how she will respond to the idea for BRT, Nikola Naumoski, former chief of staff of the former mayor Shilegov, told Utrinski briefing, Sloboden Pecat informs.
– Arsovska’s accusations are too serious just to pass with one sentence in a newspaper where you will inform them by phone. On the one hand you have a whole elaboration, project documentation, a full room of folders with documentation in the City of Skopje which explains the need and solutions of BRT and you get a mayor who rejects the project with one sentence, adds Naumovski.
– Arsovska cancels 70 million euros deal with European Bank, 70 million euros which, by the way, will not be paid only by the citizens of Skopje, but by all taxpayers in Macedonia. Arsovska throws it all in the water with one sentence. The project shows that most of it will be green, 82 ‚of the route, 15 percent will be separated from the rest of the traffic with poles, and 3% will be a pedestrian zone, says Naumovski.
