The Bulgarian parliament elected Monday the new government of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, MIA reports from Sofia.
The cabinet was approved by 134 ‘yes’ votes of the ruling coalition (Continue the Change, Bulgarian Socialist Party, There Is Such a People and Democratic Bulgaria), while 104 lawmakers of GERB, Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and Vazrazhdane [Revival] voted against. PM Petkov and the cabinet ministers were sworn in, followed by the anthems of Bulgaria and the European Union.
Afterwards, PM Petkov and the ministers headed for the Council of Ministers building, where caretaker PM Stefan Yanev is set to hand over the executive.
