The traditional events within the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) Week 2021 under the Chairmanship of North Macedonia will take place in Skopje during December 13-16.
Bringing together representatives of the CEFTA Parties, business community and international organizations, the aim of the conference is to present the results CEFTA Parties jointly achieved throughout the year and open the dialogues on future perspectives to unfold the opportunities CEFTA and Common Regional Market offer. Starting with the side events and official CEFTA meetings, the CEFTA Week will conclude with the conference “15 YEARS MAKING TRADE HAPPEN” on Dec. 16.
Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi, EU Commission for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Várhelyi, President of the WB6 CIF Managing Board Marko Čadež, RCC Secretary General Majlinda Bregu and CEFTA Secretariat Director Emir Djikic are set to deliver welcoming remarks at the conference, which will be a great opportunity to sum up the accomplishments during North Macedonia’s 2021 CEFTA Chairmanship.
CEFTA Week 2021 will kick off with official meetings of CEFTA bodies and several workshops, organized in cooperation with partners from the European Union Intellectual Property Office, USAID North Macedonia and Western Balkans 6 Chamber Investment Forum (WB6 CIF) and supported by the European Commission.
The events will be dedicated to trade-related topics arising from the Common Regional Market Action Plan, including e-commerce, recognition of certificates and procedures, permits intellectual property rights. Online webinar SEED+: Facilitating trade and enhancing transparency, which is taking place Monday to mark the start of CEFTA Week 2021, will focus on introduction of an upgrade of Systematic Electronic Exchange of Data (SEED system) amongst customs administrations in Western Balkan region.
