Several citizens from Debar reported a blockade on the roadMavrovo-Debar, bringing it in relation to today’s re-election in the second round of local elections in that municipality. A citizen informed CIVIL that the police had been blocking the road in order to prevent the citizens of Debar to come to vote.
After checking these reports, CIVIL’s monitoring came to a conclusion that the report is ungrounded and that the road is blocked by a private company due to constructions works on the road, every day from 10am to 4pm, for a whole month now.
CIVIL appeals to the citizens, and certainly also to political parties to use facts in reporting from the ground. False reports undermine the trust and inflict harm on the resources of the organization that conducts election monitoring, precisely in the protection of the right to vote.
