The vision of the country in regards to environmental protection in achieving the green EU agenda, progress in the harmonization of the national legislation in the area of environment with the European law, the readiness of the state and the dynamics for using the pre-accession funds in the areas, as well as the challenges that we are facing in environmental protection, were all in the focus of the talks that Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Naser Nuredini had with a delegation of the French Senate.
The meeting, as the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning announced, is organized within the framework of the visit of the French delegation of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group France – Western Balkans in the Senate of the French Republic.
Senator Martha De Sidrak, President of the Group, and at the same time Vice President of the Parliamentary Committee on Regional Planning and Sustainable Development, has outlined the commitments of the French government to regional cooperation and support to the efforts for environmental protection in our country.
Nuredini assured that the support from France opens a wide field for cooperation in many economic areas and expressed satisfaction from the fact that France is prepared to be our strategic partner in environmental protection and climate change.
Furthermore, Nuredini informed about the current strategic priorities and activities that are being implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, as well as about the wide range of projects and areas for possible cooperation, which would encourage French institutions to share their experiences, and at the same would be an encouragement for French companies to invest in the country.
The goal of the cooperation, as the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning points out, is strengthening regional cooperation, support in the European integration process and reforms for a quicker sustainable economic and social development, through support for environmentally sustainable projects, compatible with the Paris Agreement.
