30 years of independence. Through them we experienced many mutual successes, joys, progress in important fields, but also many disappointments, failures, divisions, setbacks in important fields. 30 years, and we are constantly on some crossroads, constantly in uncertainty, whether we will make it or not. After thirty years, we can say that we will make it. But also that we still can’t make it – to make it. Not just to make it, but to make it properly.

30 years of independence. Through them, we experienced many mutual successes, joys, progress in important fields, but also many disappointments, failures, divisions, setbacks in important fields. 30 years, and we are constantly on some crossroads, constantly in uncertainty, whether we will make it or not.
After 30 years, we can say that we will make it. But also that we still can’t make it – to make it. Not just to make it, but to make it properly. As people can make it in countries whose development we want to achieve, as I believe all want to, or at least a great majority of those who share a common destiny living in а same, common state.
Key ingredients for us to make it, my dear people, are unanimity, solidarity, responsibility for the achievements and the great legacy of previous generations, joint preservation and nurturing of things that make us not only better people, but an example also for those more developed than us.
As opposed to this, look at the “results” in the moments when divisions on various grounds, lies, hatred, violence gained more space and significance in society. Every time that happened, the outcome was devastating.
Therefore, let’s be proud of our fatherland, of this wonderful mosaic of diversity that we are building together – Macedonians, Albanians, Turks, Vlachs, Serbs, Bosniaks, Roma… all peoples of Macedonia!
Let’s be proud and respect all of our differences, no matter what they may be – religious, ideological, gender, sexual… Whenever we are together, we overcome all challenges and we win.
The key to all our victories is precisely that mosaic, our diversity, colourfulness, but also unity in the desires, ideals and love towards our country and everything it represents.
Happy September 8 – Independence Day, dear fellow citizens! Long live our Republic, long live North Macedonia, fatherland of all its citizens!
