The average family of four in North Macedonia needed 34,212 denars (EUR 555) to cover minimal living expenses in June 2021, according to the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia.
According to the estimate of the bare necessities for an average household, 14,548 denars were needed to cover monthly food costs and 10,800 denars to cover monthly utilities.
The cost of personal hygiene items and household cleaning products was approximately 2,378 denars. Transportation costs amounted to 2,509 denars. For clothing and footwear, an average family needed 2,176 denars, for entertainment 1,068 denars, and healthcare – 733 denars.
Latest figures released by the State Statistical Office place the average net monthly salary in April 2021 at 28,438 denars (EUR 461).
