“European values should be distinguished between European principles. Building a wall between an ethnic group is not in accordance with the legal order in the country and European values,” said human rights activist Tefik Mahmut at a panel discussion at CIVIL on the topic: “European values – a real perspective or an unattainable goal?”.
“In order to be part of the EU, we need to meet certain conditions, including respect for the rights of minorities,” Mahmut said.
