A total of 196,119 citizens got vaccinated in North Macedonia by Wednesday, when 12,211 COVID-19 vaccines were administered, of which 9,711 to people receiving the first dose, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday.
According to the Ministry, a total of 232,485 vaccine doses have been administered nationwide, while 36,366 citizens have also received the second dose. Latest data shows that 44% of the population over 70, 36% of the population over 65, and 30% of the population over 60 has received at least one vaccine dose so far,” the press release read.
“Vaccination across North Macedonia is taking place uninterrupted, with interest rising daily. So far, 384,706 citizens have applied for vaccination via the vakcinacija.mk website,” the press release read.
The mass vaccination program against COVID-19 is based on the National Immunization Plan, prioritizing seniors and frontline workers. In addition to the country’s largest mass vaccination site at the Skopje Boris Trajkovski Sports Arena, vaccination sites are open in Kavadarci, Kumanovo, Tetovo, Shtip, Bitola and Ohrid.
