Svetlan Stoev on Wednesday took over the position of Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs within Stefan Yanev’s caretaker government from Ekaterina Zaharieva.
Stoev, MIA reports from Sofia, told the event held at the Foreign Ministry that the caretaker government has no authority to change Bulgaria’s position regarding North Macedonia.
“We don’t have the authority to change Bulgaria’s position regarding North Macedonia. We’ll do everything that cabinet and the Foreign Minister can do in order to continue dialogue,” the caretaker FM said.
He stressed that the caretaker government will respect Bulgaria’s current position regarding North Macedonia.
According to him, there shouldn’t be speculation of changes to Bulgaria’s position in the next few months, while the caretaker government is in power.
