It is their personal decision, whether they come [to their vaccination appointment] or not, Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi said in response to a reporter asking how many Members of Parliament will get their Sputnik V vaccines at the Boris Trajkovski Sports Arena mass vaccination site in Skopje on Friday.
“It is their personal decision, whether they come or not. It’s an individual choice,” Xhaferi said, adding that they were all notified of their vaccination appointments.
The parliament speaker also said he hoped that after lawmakers receive their booster shots, parliamentary sessions can resume in person mid-May according to public health protocols.
The vaccination of Parliament staff with the Sputnik V vaccine started last week as part of the vaccination of the country’s essential workers.
According to Health Minister Venko Filipche, MPs will receive the Sputnik V vaccine in three groups. Senior citizens are also getting vaccinated at the Boris Trajkovski Sports Arena, and the process is going well, he added.
Filipche reiterated that another 26,000 Pfizer vaccine doses and 200,000 Sinofarm vaccine doses were arriving by April 28.
