The law on the origin of property is necessary, to seek information for every citizen to prove where their property comes from, on which grounds they have acquired it, whether as an inheritance, through purchase, as a gift, etc. The Council of Europe supports us. It has provided us with a consultant to start the process for preparation of this law, President of the Anti-Corruption Commission Biljana Ivanovska told a press conference on Tuesday.
As regards a vehicle of former Government Secretary General Dragi Rashkovski, which hasn’t been reported to the anti-corruption commission, Ivanovska said it will be reported to the Financial Police if he has presented unrealistic property information.
“If we track down differences between the property presented and his monthly income, then we’ll take a step further, in accordance with the law, to examine the property and other institutions will get involved, such as the Financial Police which applies special investigation methods to prove this,” said Ivanovska.
