The event “The Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius”, which has been included this year in the European Regional Development Program, will be organized with the Czech Republic and North Macedonia also participating in addition to the regular host, Slovakia, it was announced Thursday.
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev met on Thursday with Slovak Ambassador Henrik Markus, who introduced to him the event organizer, Stojan Lekoski, a Macedonian national living in Slovakia, the government said in a press release.
After being proposed by Zaev, the guests accepted, calling it a great honor, that the events as part of the “Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius”, held in North Macedonia, should be included in the program marking the 30th anniversary since the declaration of independence.
“May we demonstrate together with Slovakia and the Czech Republic that the body of work of the Slavic enlighteners, Saints Cyril and Methodius, is of joint interest of all Slavic peoples to honor them and is of great significance for the European spiritual and cultural history,” PM Zaev said.
Zaev and Ambassador Markus also discussed the cooperation between Slovakia and North Macedonia in the country’s EU integration process as well as business cooperation, which has plenty of opportunities for further development, said the press release.
