President Stevo Pendarovski held Thursday a video call with Sithong Chitnhothinh, new Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the Republic of North Macedonia, resident in Vienna, who presented copies of his letters of credence.

Pendarovski stressed the importance of promoting a positive agenda for cooperation between the two countries, also in terms of regulating the contractual framework, while reaffirming interest in deepening cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, in particular the economy, pharmaceutical industry, and culture, his office said in a press release.

“Interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the mutual cooperation in multilateral organizations, especially within the UN and the International Organization of La Francophonie. In this regard, they also discussed the upcoming Francophonie Summit, whose relevance is enhanced by the pandemic that has affected all OIF members,” the press release reads.

Congratulating Ambassador Chitnhothinh on his new post, President Pendarovski wished him good health and success in performing his diplomatic duties.
