Daily Brief: “Administrative workers” who stayed at home will start working, amendments to the Law on Medicines, women from Shuto Orizari still without a gynaecologist

NEWS OF THE DAY: Administrative workers without assigned positions have been  assigned, should start working by end of January

The transfer of administrative workers employed through the K-5 program in the Ministry of Political System has completed, hence 1,349 employees, mostly economists and lawyers, but also staff with secondary education, have been assigned in 237 institutions, state bodies and the local self-government and other state bodies, informs MIA.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Political System in the Government, Artan Grubi, at today’s press conference announced that the list of people who have not been assigned to working positions has been cleared, that previous checks have been made and that some dismissals have been made, and that some people themselves have submitted requests to have their contracts terminated.

STATEMENT OF THE DAY: Filipce: The amendments to the Law on medicines comes upon the request of “Pfizer”, which is at the global level

The amendments to the Law on Medicines follows the specific demand of the “Pfizer” company, which they brought at the global level, and that is for the specific product, that is, for the vaccine against Covid-19. They have no obligation to make any agreements with local companies, but rather to register themselves to the competent institutions in each of the countries, as a representative office from abroad, in order to register the product, stated today Minister of Health Venko Filipce.

This, adds Filipce, is not at all an obstacle for the vaccine to arrive in the country, and this has been discussed also with representatives of “Pfizer”, because, as he said, in our Law there are mechanisms that have been used previously as well for vaccines and other preparations to enter with a so-called intervention import.

– There cannot be registration in a single country because the products are new, it’s not possible to expect this, nor is there a need as the documents that are given for intervention import are quite enough because with this we ensure ourselves that the entire procedure for making the vaccine, the controls in the home countries where they are made, controls by international laboratories, quality certificates are what guarantee the quality, said Filipce.

Women of Shuto Orizari ask: When will we have a gynaecologist in our municipality?

Salija Bekjir Halim stated for CIVIL Media that in October last year Minister of Health Venko Filipce had informed that the women from Shuto Orizari would receive a gynaecologist, namely that Bozhidar Boskovski, who is an experienced gynaecologist, would be available for all patients of this municipality.

“Although the Ministry of Health announced opening of a new gynaecologist practice, it still has not been opened and the reproductive health of the women in our municipality has been put at risk for a longer time. 8.000-13.000 women in their reproductive period have no gynaecologist in Shuto Orizari, even though we are in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, after a year ago the gynaecologist closed the gynaecologist practice. First we were told that a gynaecologist practice would open from December 1, 2020, and then it was January 2021, and a month has already passed and we still do not have a gynaecologist”, says Salija Bekjir.

FLASH NEWS

Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov signed the Framework Agreement for translation of the EU acquis, as one of the most important preconditions for EU membership of North Macedonia, announced the Secretariat for European Affairs.

There is no plan B, the goal is EU accession of North Macedonia. I am optimistic. Agreeing on the negotiating framework follows now and holding the first intergovernmental conference, which will actually start the very process of negotiations, stated EU Ambassador to the country David Gere in an interview for MIA.

Ministry of Education and Science announced that a debate for the proposed reforms in primary education today was organized with academics from the Department of Social Sciences of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, which was attended by Minister of Education and Science Mila Carovska and Deputy Minister Arafat Shabani, members who worked on the development of the concept and representatives of the Bureau for Development of Education.

The reform should be supported and is necessary as soon as possible because it concerns the most important issue – primary education, which is the base for the entire education system, consider members of the Department for Social Sciences and of the Center for Strategic Research in the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, according to who it is normal to have different views, and they too have their own suggestions on improving the concept and had presented them today at the meeting with Minister Mila Carovska and with members of the working group that developed the draft document.

The Public Revenue Office informs that in February 2021 payment of part of the VAT will be conducted  of citizens  who have scanned bills through the MyVAT application in the fourth quarter of  2020, more specifically for the months October, November and December 2020.

“The consultative working group, formed to overlook the process and to give proposals for improving access to quality services for early childhood development, especially for children from socially disadvantaged environments, held its first meeting, which due to prevention and protection against Covid- 19 was held online”, announced the Ministry of Labor and Socially Policy.
