STATEMENT OF THE DAY: Shahpaska: The Law on Mandatory Retirement blocked by the opposition with 400 – 500 amendments
The legal solution for mandatory retirement in the public sector at the age of 62 and 64 is in parliamentary procedure, but blocked with 400 – 500 amendments by the opposition, said today Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jagoda Shahpaska.
“My knowledge is that the law has come to the second reading, but that all four laws that regulate retirement at the age of 64, the Law on labour relations, on administrative servants, health care and for higher education, are blocked by the opposition with 400-500 amendments each. I call on all MPS, both from the government and from the opposition, to find a solution and outcome, because our knowledge is that all amendments are in essence the same, only for shifting the validity of the law. For them to agree and for this legal solution to be submitted”, said the Minister.
