The unemployment rate in North Macedonia in the third quarter of 2020 was 16.5% i.e. 0.2% lower compared to the previous quarter when it stood at 16.7%, State Statistical Office data shows.
In Q3 of 2020, the labor force in the Republic of North Macedonia numbered 941,136 persons, of which 785,561 were employed, while 155,575 were unemployed.
In the previous quarter, labor force in the country numbered 964,248 persons, of which 799,546 were employed, while 159,623 were unemployed.
Moreover, data shows that the unemployment rate in Q3 of 2020 was 16.1% in the 25-49 age group and 12.6% in the 50-64 age group.
3,000 of the unemployed persons in Q3 were uneducated.
Sectors with most employees in Q3 of 2002 were the manufacturing industry with 154,842 workers and the wholesale and retail trade with 114,336 workers.
