“Congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and VP-elect Kamala Harris! I am certain that we will continue to develop excellent relations between North Macedonia and the USA. Deepening our strategic partnership and strengthening our alliance in NATO. The future is bright!” PM Zoran Zaev congratulated on Twitter, concluding that with the victory of Democrat Joe Biden, North Macedonia gained another great international friend.
The newly elected President of the United States, Joe Biden, clearly expressed his support during the meeting with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev at the Munich Conference in February 2019.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Zaev thanked Biden, then former Vice President of the United States, for his efforts to successfully resolve the dispute with Greece and for the support of the Prespa Agreement, which kicked off the NATO membership process in North Macedonia and gave security to the country’s policies on aspirations for a sooner EU membership.
Biden then stressed that the success of the Republic of North Macedonia is a success of both US and European Union policies, and that he rejoices in the day when the ratification of the Protocol is completed and when North Macedonia becomes an equal partner with other NATO allies.
