NEWS OF THE DAY: SCPC: The appanage is maximally used by elected and appointed persons after end of mandate
In the period between 2014 and 2018, out of a total of 107 persons who used the right to appanage after the end of the function they were elected or appointed to, a hundred persons had been employed prior to the appointment to the position and did not use the right to go back to their previous workplace within 30 days of the end of the function according to the Law on MPs, rather, they used appanages.
This is shown by the data from the analysis on the budget expenditure by the state administration bodies, public enterprises and joint stock companies formed by state bodies, a case opened based upon findings presented in the media for abuse of official position and authorization, as well as negligent work in the service by elected appointed persons as well as other official persons financed by state budget funds.
STATEMENT OF THE DAY: Deralla: Violence of any kind must be sanctioned and be excluded from peoples’ lives
“The philosophy and practice of nonviolence in politics and in overall life in society, of course, implies peaceful conflict resolution between people, communities, and states. That means that prevention of any kind of violence, from physical to verbal violence.
I take this opportunity, on the International Day of Nonviolence, to outline the conclusion that we live in a time when black propaganda and hate speech, indirectly, and often directly as well, threaten the safety, physical integrity, health, property, and dignity of people.
Often, non-physical violence inflicts equal damage as physical violence, and even armed violence. On this day, we need to remind ourselves that in no way should the online violence be neglected, which is present both on the social networks and in some media. Violence in any form has to be rejected and condemned, sanctioned and excluded from people’s lives”, stated Xhabir Deralla, President of CIVIL, on the occasion of International Day of Non-Violence.
