“I commit as a Prime Minister together with the ministers, together with the citizens, that we will show once again that we can do more, that we can do better”, with these words PM-designate Zoran Zaev started his statement in regards to the new government program before the new parliamentary composition of the Parliament, where today the debate on the election of the new government started.

The focus, said Zaev, will be on dealing with the crisis, fostering interethnic and neighbourly relations, and even more work will be put into the economy. Emphasizing that the previous government achieved the historically lowest unemployment rate and an increase in salaries and investments, the PM-designate announced a new economic innovative strategy and new salary increases.

“In this program we have incorporated our strong commitment for creating economic growth, justice, internal development, successful dealing with the world pandemic, EU membership and good inter-ethnic and neighbourly relations. We have showed that the historically lowest unemployment can be achieved, that the minimum salary can increase from 9.000 to 14.500 denars for less than three years. More than two and a half times more investments have entered the country, unlike the first quarter of last year. This growth is an additional motivation for us to work harder. We have a plan for an innovative competitive Macedonian economy. In such an economy, salaries will start to rise”, said Zaev before the MPs.
