Fetai: SPO will function even without Katica Janeva

Prosecutor in the Special Public Prosecutor’s Office, Fatime Fetai, today stated that the SPO continues to represent cases in the courtroom, regardless of the fact that their boss has been detained for the “Racket” case.

– What is currently happening can just be a good indication that anyone who has committed a wrongdoing has to be held responsible, that things are finally starting to move in a positive direction in our country and that simply no one is untouchable. However, on the other hand, the individual criminal responsibility of one of the prosecutors in the SPO must not be an excuse, or justification to forget the entire crime that was committed in our country in the recent period and for us to stop the fight. SPO’s team is fully dedicated to the fight for justice, and we are continuing with our work, said Fetai.

Osmani: Complete clearing up of the “Racket” case in order to restore citizens’ trust

Cheap abuse of the “Racket” case is an expression of immaturity and irresponsibility and is threatening our position as a serious country among our international partners, outlined Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs, Bujar Osmani.

He emphasized that there are less than two months from the key EU meetings, where confirmation is expected for the start of negotiations, and urged everyone to step out of the party matrixes and to ensure a stable, prosperous and European future of the country.

Helsinki Committee: 30% increase of discrimination cases in 2018

The number of registered discrimination cases in our country has increased by 30 percent, after in 2018 a total of 119 cases were registered, compared to 82 cases registered in 2017, show published date from the annual report on discrimination of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights.

The most common grounds for discrimination are based on personal and social status, sex and gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnic background and religion.

Katica Janeva is in prison, who’s next?

The arrest of Janeva, at least for now, seems like a game changer. The legal state, despite the strong commotion in the public and the media, nevertheless, has started to function and has shown that, regardless of the obstructions, it will function. This event has brought the public’s attention to a high degree, but still, Janeva is just one link in the criminal chain in which Kamcev is the one giving bribe in order not to face justice. Very few people are talking about the fact that with giving money (and furniture) as a bribe, Kamcev is actually admitting his guilt and that he is responsible under to the laws, as are also those who have traded with influence and have taken bribes.
