The Special Prosecutor’s Office, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Interior will be investigating the new bombs

The Special Prosecutor’s Office and the regular Public Prosecutor’s Office are opening an investigation for the new “bombs” that appeared yesterday on the Russian social network VKontakte.

“According to the competencies, an investigation has been initiated regarding the released telephone conversations. The public will be further informed about the course of the investigation”, is stated form the Ministry.

From the SPO they say that the conversations have not leaked from their institution and that they will check whether they have these bombs in their materials.

On April 5 at a public debate in Prilep, two of the audio recordings were played, and the event was broadcasted live on Facebook.

Ljupco Palevski was a speaker at the event, and after that he and two more persons from Prilep and Bitola were detained in the Prilep police, while the MOI also announced charges after clearing the case.

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev confirmed that some of the conversations released in these past several days that he has heard, are part of the package of materials that he has handed over to the SPO, and that it is important that the MOI and the Prosecutor’s Office are acting upon them in accordance with their competencies.

Janakieski from a trial to a hearing

The suspected organizer of the violent attack on the Parliament on April 27, 2017, Mile Janakieski, after today’s trial as the one ordering the violence in the Municipality of Center in June 2013, is to go to a hearing before the prosecutor for organized crime, Vilma Ruskoska.

On Tuesday, former President of Parliament Trajko Veljanoski was at a hearing before Ruskoska. He defended himself with silence and quickly left the prosecution.

In addition to Veljanoski and Janakieski, so far other suspects for organizing and managing the violence on April 27, 2017 are Nikola Gruevski and Nikola Boskovski who have fled, as well as the detained in Sutka, Spiro Ristovski and Vladimir Atansavoski, former director of the UBK.

Ademi: The distribution of the state budget for participants in the election campaign will be most problematic

The State Audit Office, in accordance to its competencies in the context of the electoral processes, is competent for monitoring and revision of the political financing. More specifically, the financial reports of the political parties are assessed, and in this case, for the presidential elections and of the presidential candidates.

In a conversation with CIVIL Media, Deputy Auditor General Naser Ademi spoke also about the difficulties that will arise from the budgeting of the participants in the election campaign from the state funds the State Election Commission distributes. Ademi clarified the role of the State Audit Office, the needs of the institution for its professional functioning, the competencies, the corruption in the political financing…

Last day of the election campaign

The twenty-day presidential election campaign and the campaign for the early local elections in the municipalities of Debar, Ohrid and Novo Selo, ends tonight at midnight, with which the election silence begins.

Tomorrow, Saturday, April 20, 3.583 sick and disabled persons will be able to exercise their right to vote, along with 1.600 prisoners in prison or house arrest, as well as 7 displaced persons who have applied to the SEC for voting, and citizens from the diaspora at 32 polling stations in the diplomatic-consular offices. From the diaspora, 1.782 voters have applied.

A total of 1.808.131 voters are registered in the Voters Register, whereas the voting will be carried out by 80 municipal election boards at 3.480 polling stations.

CIVIL reminds: Election silence begins at midnight!

CIVIL reminds the political parties that election silence begins at midnight! All those involved in the election process have until midnight for the last presenting of their candidates for president of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The election campaign ends, and as of midnight the media and all participants in the election process, until 7.00 pm Sunday, April 21, stop with all kind of spreading of information, photos and other audio-visual materials related to the participants in the election process.

This means that spreading propaganda, party propagation, campaigning and other violations to the Electoral Code are strictly prohibited.

As always, CIVIL will be open during the weekend, and on Sunday will open a press center in Club Menada, the Old Bazaar, as was previously announced.

CIVIL’s press center will be open 18 hours non-stop

CIVIL will open its Election press center at 6.00 am on April 21 (Sunday) in Club Menada (Old Bazaar, across the SEE University). The press center will be open until midnight.

CIVIL’s press center will be receiving reports from the ground, as well as reports on irregularities from citizens.

CIVIL’s representatives will be available to the media during the entire day and in the evening. Press conferences with reports from CIVIL’s observers on the ground will be organized at 10, 12:30, 17:45 and 19:30h. CIVIL will also hold two panel discussions at 8.00 pm and 9.30 pm, so participation of members of CIVIL’s coordination team, political analyst Saso Ordanoski, legal expert Sandra Gavrilovska and other renowned names.

Spasovski: The MOI is ready to provide a decent and secure atmosphere on the day of the voting

“The Ministry of Interior, in accordance to its competencies, is monitoring the entire election process, all with the single purpose – for the election day to pass peacefully, unimpededly and dignifiedly, as is fit for a democratic and free society. In the past period, police officers went through a series of planned activities for quality and efficient observation and securing the entire election process from its start to its end.

The Ministry of Interior is completely prepared to provide a dignified and secure atmosphere, in which every citizen of ours will be able to exercise its voting right. We are prepared to resolutely and uncompromisingly prevent any attempt for disturbing the election process regardless of where and by who. Be sure that the laws and the will of the citizens will be fully respected”, stated Spasovski.
