Pollution
The Government cancelled the measures and recommendations against the pollution two days after they were brought. Namely, in the announcement of the Government it is indicated that the threshold for alerting on the suspended particles of a size of up to 10 micrometers (exceeding the value of 188 mg/m3 during two consecutive days), and the weather forecast from the Hydrometeorological Service, has exceeded at the measuring station in Strumica, where the measures and recommendations remain effective.
Elections
The State Election Commission has started with the preparations for the upcoming presidential elections at today’s public session. On the agenda were several draft procedures related to the candidate lists, acting upon complaints of the professional service of the SEC, observing the elections and the electoral procedure, performing insight in the records of the MOI for issuing biometric documents as well as in the databases and records of citizens of other state bodies and institutions…
On the topic of elections, Zijadin Sela from the Alliance for the Albanians, stated that they still do not have a position in relation to the presidential elections, but that they do agree with the proposal for the election of the president of the Parliament. At the same time, Sela considers that early parliamentary elections are also needed, in parallel with the presidential ones, with the explanation that the Government was unsuccessful in regards to many issues, especially in the domain of justice.
Anticorruption
The Parliament published the announcement for the new composition of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption. The announcement will last seven days and has been published in the daily newspapers. In the selection, according to the new Law on prevention of corruption and conflict of interests, the principle of appropriate and equitable representation will apply as well as the principle of equal gender representation.
The announcement will last 7 days for the president and six members of the SCPOC with a mandate of 5 years, after which they will not have the right to re-election.
Court
The trial for the “Titanic” case, which is in regards to electoral irregularities, continued today in the Criminal Court. At the last hearing for the “Titanic” case, material evidence such as documents, lists of polling stations, telephone conversations were all presented.
Law on languages
After Deputy Prime Minister Bujar Osmani stated yesterday that the Law on the use of languages should not be sent to the Venice Commission because Professor Tanja Karakamiseva is a Macedonian representative there, who is disputing the process, today the Government, nevertheless, did send the law to Venice.
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev stressed that every indication of the Venice Commission will be incorporated in the Law on the use of languages, and in this way the hesitations of any citizen will be eliminated.
