The MPs agreed today for the the draft law on amending the Electoral Code to be reviewed, in a shortened procedure, once the leaders’ meeting ends.

The leaders of the political parties SDSM, VMRO-DPMNE, DUI and BESA are attending today’s leaders’ meeting, which is the third one in a row. At the meeting, Radmila Sekerinska is accompanying Zoran Zaev, Tanja Karakamiseva is accompanying Hristijan Mickoski, Bujar Osmani is accompanying Ali Ahmeti and Bilal Kasami is accompanied by Arianit Hoxha. The meeting is held behind closed doors, and statements of the leaders are expected after the meeting ends.

Because the negotiations at the leaders’ meeting are being prolonged, as CIVIL Media learns from unofficial sources, it is uncertain whether Prime Minister Zoran Zaev will travel to Mostar on the occasion of the awarding of the annual award of the Center for Peace and Multiethnic Cooperation to Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for prosecuting organized crime and corruption has formed a case following reports in the media over the possible abuses in allocating grants within a public call of the Fund for Innovations and Technology Development.

In yesterday’s announcement, the Fund for Innovations emphasized that it has neither now, nor will it in the future discriminate companies on any grounds, and that they assess only according to the quality of the offered projects and the benefits resulting from them.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Dimitrov, today in Skopje will speak with German Minister of State for Europe at the Federal Foreign Office, Michael Roth, about the latest activities towards the realization of the foreign policy priorities of Republic of Macedonia, and about the upcoming steps for full implementation of the reached Agreement for resolving the bilateral dispute with neighboring Greece.

Tomorrow, starting at 11.45 am, on the northern terrace of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the City of Skopje, in honor of the official visit of Roth, the Friedrich Ebert Skopje Office and CIVIL – Center for Freedom are organizing a panel discussion on the topic “Youth Perspectives for Macedonia’s EU Integration”.

CIVIL has also announced a new series of seminars, the first being held in Veles, Hotel Gardenia, from 11.00 am until 5.00 pm on Saturday, July 28. All citizens from Veles, Sv. Nikole, Gradsko, Lozovo, Rosoman, Caska, Kavadarci and Negotino have the right to participate. As it is said in the announcement, this seminar will be an excellent opportunity for the participants to get involved in the upcoming political-social processes, through monitoring of the referendum and the presidential elections in 2019.
