Commander Hoxha is again in the center of attention. Following reactions to his employment as advisor in Zaev’s government, the Prime Minister has informed us today that Xhezair Shaqiri has resigned from his position.
In statements for the media, Shaqiri stated that the only politician in Macedonia who has given him a chance is Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, and that only he has his respect. He added that he does not want for Macedonia to suffer on its path to the EU and NATO, and that if someone thought that it was about the money he would be receiving, that they are mistaken.
Today was also marked by the conference in Sounion, Greece, where Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Balkan EU member states, EU candidate states and of the Visegrad Group are attending.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia, Nikola Dimitrov, is also attending the conference, who in his address before his colleagues stated that for the Balkan states, the future of Europe, the two words of the title of the session, are almost synonyms, that is, when we think of our future, we think of Europe.
The fire that broke out last night near the “Makstil” factory, where waste iron had been burned, was in the focus of concerned citizens of Skopje this morning. The company informed today that the reasons for the fire are still not known, because the Celicarnica (steelworks) plant has not been functioning since April 29.
In the announcement it is said that the fire has been extinguished and that measures are being taken for determining the cause of the fire.
In Macedonia, the hearings in regards to the cases opened by the SPO continue today.
“Titanic 3”, in which Ejup Aljumi and Ismet Guru are accused for “destroying election material” as members of the Municipal Election Commission, “Toplik” where Mile Janakievski is also accused, whose defense requested for an analysis to be made by an expert on the “bombs” of this case.
A workshop of CIVIL – Center for Freedom is currently being held at the Youth Cultural Center of Stip, on the topic “What kind of Macedonia do I want?” .The workshop is part of the project Action – Integration, which regards support of the democratic reforms, citizen participation, green initiatives and European values in Republic of Macedonia. CIVIL visited the municipalities of Sveti Nikole and Kocani, where through information stands the citizens had the opportunity to learn about the project and CIVIL’s activities, whereas in the afternoon, information stands will be put up in other municipalities of the eastern region as well.
