The long-announced Conference “CIVIC CHARTER – The Global Framework for People’s Participation” will be held today at City Park Hotel, starting at 13:00h. This event is a unique opportunity for the public to learn more about the CIVIC CHARTER and the possibilities for cross-sectoral cooperation and partnerships. At the same time, this is another opportunity for the organization’s new supporters and members to meet and share information, ideas and plans about the future steps of the organization.
The respect for human rights and freedoms and citizen participation in the shaping of societies is a crucial need of the new time. This new, global document reinforces the voice of the citizens for more rights and freedoms, for more space for active citizen participation in the decision-making processes at the local, state and global level.
At today’s conference, CIVIL and the International Civil Society Centre (ICSC), will present their standpoints and the opportunities for cooperation between civil society, local and central government, media, business communities, political parties and other stakeholders and decision-making structures in the country
Representatives of the Government, local government and parliament, as well as of civil society and the business community are invited as speakers.
Public relations advisor to the Prime Minister of Republic of Macedonia, Marjan Zabrcanec, Mayor of Kumanovo, Maksim Dimitrievski, International Civil Society Centre (Berlin, Germany) representative, Brandy Gerking, CIVIL representatives Maja Ivanovska, Sinisa Stankovic and Xhabir Deralla, human rights activist Jasmina Golubovska and Vanco Ordanoski from the business community are all part of the speakers at the Conference.
CIVIC CHARTER – What’s in it for me? is a pilot project through which CIVIL continues to promote the Civic Charter in an innovative way. This includes exploration of possibilities for establishing cross-sectoral cooperation and partnerships for adoption and consistent implementation of the Civic Charter.
One of the project’s goals is to sensitize the civil society stakeholders, local and central governments, media, business communities and political parties about the Civic Charter, and discuss modules of adoption and use of this document, as well as possibilities for cooperation and partnerships.
The project is supported by the International Civil Society Centre.
