CIVIL – Center for Freedom, in its response to VMRO-DPMNE’s denial, is once more informing the public that it will continue to report on the situation of human rights and freedoms and the election processes in Macedonia in an impartial and objective manner.
Sharpness, sincerity and commitment are part of the most important characteristics of every person in CIVIL. The Macedonian public recognizes this, but also the international community and the donors. In CIVIL’s structure there are experienced people working who are familiar with the situation, people with high professional and moral integrity.
We use this opportunity to once again strongly condemn the politically motivated violence, and to call on the relevant state institutions to identify all the attackers in all of the incidents and to sanction them according to the law.
CIVIL has shown and proven in all the election processes that it is an organization with integrity and enjoys great confidence from the citizens of Republic of Macedonia, regardless of their origin, association or political affiliation. CIVIL’s reports are the basis for understanding the social-political processes in the country, while the events and happenings for which CIVIL’s observers have reported on, have become part of the SPO’s investigations.
CIVIL’s observers, activists and members, as well as citizen journalists and journalists, inform daily on the situation on the ground during the pre-election campaign. Many of those reports are published immediately on CIVIL Media, while a part of them are subjected to additional checking and verifications.
In any case, all of CIVIL’s reports are available to the domestic and international public, but we do welcome VMRO-DPMNE’s initiative to share our reports with the international community and to express their view regarding them. We suggest that they also share CIVIL’s reports from the previous election processes, and we call on them to share the reports, as well as analyses and opinions that are published by CIVIL Media on their political rivals.
We will additionally investigate the incident for which VMRO-DPMNE is reacting, and we will inform the public, as always.
At the same time, we inform the public that we are already investigating all the assertions about the abuses for which VMRO-DPMNE is speaking of in their communication with the public, as well as in their communication with representatives of the international community.
Lastly, we call on VMRO-DPMNE to put CIVIL Media’s reaction on its mailing list, and to take into consideration when planning their activities all the letters, messages and emails with an invitation to them for participation in our public events or for making statements.
