The Ministry of Health said Tuesday that in the past 24 hours, 50 confirmed coronavirus patients have been admitted in the COVID centers in Skopje due to virus complications.
A total of 478 confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients are being treated at the infectious disease wards in the hospitals in the capital.
In the past 24 hours, a total of 19 patients have been admitted at the internal clinics, of which three at the Institute for Lung Diseases and Tuberculosis, three at the COVID center in the Neurology Clinic, two at the Otorhinolaryngology Clinic, two at the center in the Dermatovenerology Clinic, eight at the Gastroenterohepatology Clinic and one at the Ophthalmology Clinic.
Moreover, 12 patients were admitted at the COVID center within the Skopje City General Hospital ‘8 September’ with one put on a ventilator, and 18 at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, the press release reads.
In the past 24 hours, 37 recovered coronavirus patients were discharged from hospitals.
27 patients are currently being treated at the COVID center within the Dermatology Clinic, another 30 at the Neurology Clinic, 50 at the Institute for Lung Diseases and Tuberculosis, 24 at the Nephrology Clinic, 16 patients at the Ophthalmology Clinic, 23 at the Otorhinolaryngology Clinic and 17 at the Gastroenterohepatology Clinic.
There are 109 patients at the “8 September” hospital, 151 patients at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and 31 patients at the Institute of Respiratory Diseases in Children-Kozle, of which nine children and 22 adults.
A total of 478 confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients are being treated at the infectious disease wards in the hospitals in the capital. Many of them are on oxygen support.
“Despite the surge in hospitalizations on Monday, there were about 40 hospital beds available until 8 am on Tuesday, and more are expected to become available during the day at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and the ‘8 September’ hospital as recovered patients are discharged,” reads the press release.
