CONSTITUTIONAL COURT The Constitutional Court at today’s session adopted a decision for stopping the execution of separate acts or actions taken on the basis of the decree for limiting the payment of allowances and compensations of employees in the public sector during the state of emergency for determining the amount of salary of elected, appointed and designated persons in the public sector during the state of emergency and for the SPO.
GOVERNMENT According to the Government, the initiated procedure of the Constitutional Court for annulment of the Decree for reducing the salaries of 2.060 officials, MPs, judges, prosecutors and directors to a minimum wage of 14.500 denars for April and May directly affects the solidarity in the country.
CRIMINAL CHARGES Kumanovo Mayor Maksim Dimitrievski in addition to misdemeanour charges, following the omissions determined by the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate, will also receive criminal charges under Article 206 of the Criminal Code. According to this Article, Dimitrievski may receive a fine or one year in prison.
REALLOCATION The Government at today’s 47 session, adopted the Information on reallocation of funds from the Local Roads Connectivity Project of the World Bank, in the amount of 50 million EUR, in the direction of co-funding the Government measure for financial support of employers affected by the health and economic crisis for paying the salaries of workers for the months of April and May 2020.
(NO)SOLIDARITY The number of people who are voluntarily donating their VAT refunds for the first three months of the year has risen to over 5.000. Unlike them, some officials and judges, who were supposed to receive a minimum wage during the state of emergency, have submitted an initiative for this Government decision to the Constitutional Court. The Court, on the other hand, today declared the decision unconstitutional, thereby the salaries of officials, MPs and judges will not be reduced.
