The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China confirmed that 200,000 Chinese vaccines are to be expected around April 28, according to Health Minister Venko Filipche. Additionally, a batch of 10,000 Pfizer vaccine doses should arrive on April 19, followed by another 10,000 Pfizer doses on April 26.
In response to a reporter’s question on Thursday, Minister Filipche said there was no need of ordering additional Sputnik V doses from the Serbian manufacturer of the Russian vaccine because North Macedonia has secured 2,6 million vaccine doses already.
This includes 800,000 Pfizer vaccine doses through the Covax Facility; another 800,000 Pfizer vaccine doses through a direct agreement with the manufacturer; 200,000 Russian vaccine doses; 200,000 Chinese vaccine doses; 100,000 vaccine doses from the EU’s Solidarity Fund; and 500,000 Sinovac vaccines that are expected to arrive in May, the health minister said.
