The spread of the British coronavirus mutation is increasing in North Macedonia. The most relevant laboratory in the country located at the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU) has confirmed more than 50 cases of the British mutation in a very short time frame. The numbers of newly infected and hospitalized patients with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are again showing growth in several cities in the country. North Macedonia has not yet received any COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, 47 recovered patients were discharged from hospitals over the past 24 hours.

A total of 315 patients are currently being treated at COVID units within Skopje’s internal and surgical clinics.

There are 138 patients at the ‘8 September’ hospital, 153 patients at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, 33 patients at the Institute of Respiratory Diseases in Children-Kozle, 16 patients at the Children’s Clinic, three patients at the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics and 52 patients at the Institute for Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.
