Late last night, a new group of 149 Afghan citizens arrived at the Skopje International Airport. These are scholarship holders of Open Society Foundations and citizens who have worked in international missions for development of democracy in Afghanistan, as well as members of their families.
The citizens will have a temporary stay in Skopje, until transfer to their final destination is provided. The costs are covered entirely by international organizations.
After landing late last night, a standard procedure was carried out, security checks and protection, medical support, PCR test and possibility for vaccination.
The Red Cross handed out hygienic packages and clothes, and additionally for persons who arrived previously to North Macedonia, the Red Cross distributed additional hygiene products, winter clothes and shoes.
So far, a total of 450 citizens from Afghanistan have arrived in the country, for whom the institutions are doing everything for them to feel safe by providing them all necessary support and help during their temporary stay in North Macedonia.
