The Ministry of Health said Wednesday that a total of 1,427 COVID-19 patients are being treated in hospitals in North Macedonia.
A total of 592 confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients are being treated at the infectious disease wards in the hospitals in the capital and 835 in COVID centers across the rest of the country.
79 confirmed coronavirus patients have been admitted in the COVID centers in Skopje due to virus complications over the past 24 hours, of which 24 in internal and surgical clinics.
Moreover, 16 patients were admitted at the COVID unit within the Skopje City General Hospital ‘8 September’, seven patient at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, 20 patients at the Institute of Respiratory Diseases in Children-Kozle and six at the Children’s Hospital, adds the press release.
In addition, 64 recovered patients were discharged from hospitals over the past 24 hours.
A total of 276 patients are currently being treated at COVID units within Skopje’s internal and surgical clinics.
There are 119 patients at the “8 September” hospital, 133 patients at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, 36 patients at the Institute of Respiratory Diseases in Children-Kozle, 21 patients at the Children’s Clinic and seven patients at the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
According to the Ministry of Health’s press release, there were 60 hospital beds available in Skopje and 270 nationwide until Wednesday at 8 am. More beds are expected to become available during the day as recovered patients are discharged.
All state centers have enough oxygen for patients who need it and hospital capacities, if necessary, can be increased to admit more coronavirus patients, the release adds.
