Civil was established in Skopje fourteen years ago, on November 14, 1999. A group of activists, independent journalists and artists gathered to establish Civil, an organization for human rights and freedoms, peace and arms control. Happy birthday!

Dear fellow citizens and friends of Civil,
Civil – Center for Freedom marks 14 years since its formation. Always in search of truth and justice, always in defense of human rights and freedoms, Civil succeeded to implement a three-digit number of projects across the country; it became a recognized organization in the region and in the world to a certain extent.
I’m proud to be the head of the organization trusted and supported by citizens, regardless of their ethnicity or political affiliation. We worked hard to maintain our neutrality and impartiality for all these 14 years. So we continue.
To founders, members, associates, supporters and activists of Civil, I congratulate the birthday of Civil, and thank them for their honesty and commitment.
