As of today, 254,154 citizens have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose in the country and 177,020 have received both, the Ministry of Health said Friday.
On Thursday, 10,065 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 nationwide. Of them, 1,450 received their first vaccine dose.
A total of 431,174 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, reads the press release.
The mass vaccination program against COVID-19 is based on the National Immunization Plan, prioritizing seniors and frontline workers.
The latest figures show that 48 percent of the population over 70, 42 percent of the population over 65, and 35 percent of the population over 60 have received at least one vaccine dose.
In addition to the country’s largest mass vaccination site at the Skopje Boris Trajkovski Sports Arena, vaccination sites are open in Kavadarci, Kumanovo, Tetovo, Shtip, Bitola, Strumica, Ohrid, Veles, and Prilep.
The Ministry of Health urges citizens to apply for their coronavirus shot appointment at vakcinacija.mk. So far, 447,543 citizens have applied for vaccination via the website, the release adds.
