The real motives of #MitskoTakis

A hot political summer lies ahead of us, in which the Russian influences will be felt both in Greece and in Macedonia. In both countries, the radicals and the church are working in a Russian rhythm against the agreement between the two countries. With the same slogans, with the same hatred and with the same iconography, just in a different language. They are using all the means and the dirtiest ones to reach their goal – returning the previous situation and further destabilization of the Balkans. That destabilization is carried out through preventing the Macedonian integrations, internal division and radicalization along ethno-religious lines. In their scripts with strategic plans, Macedonia must not become an example of a multicultural, democratic and prosperous society.

By: Xhabir Deralla

Macedonia, again, has to walk the road with seven-mile steps. The country needs international support now more than ever. Euro-bureaucrats need to make way for leaders with a vision and to enable the country to continue rushing with fast steps towards the Euro-Atlantic structures. Macedonia’s failure on this path will be a difficult and shameful failure also for the international community.

The demands of Mickoski and his part of VMRO-DPMNE for amnesty of those convicted for the Parliament shows many things, but not care for them. Not by far. The problem with Mickoski and his bosses from the Family is that those who are convicted are not the only wrongdoers. Mickoski is demanding amnesty, because he is protecting the architects of the attack, which was just another atrocity following the long criminal ruling. And maybe he himself is on the top spot on the list of organizers and those giving orders? Undoubtedly, that is the main motive for his greatest shame and additional disclosure before the Macedonian public.

Some interpret Mickoski’s ultra-firm stance against the agreement with Greece also as jealousy. And there is reason for him to be jealous. His party missed another historic opportunity to sign an agreement significant worldwide. Therefore, he is standing on an entirely opposite side – a classical Balkan position, similar to the stubbornness of a mule. Even though it seems so absurd and ridiculous, stubbornness must not be excluded from the list of reasons. However, the main reason certainly lies in the Russian-Turkish Anti-Western policy. If that pressure was to subdue, then this political party, already divided, would have to take a different course.

The radical ethno-nationalism and chauvinism that we see on the streets, in the media under their control and on the social networks, hasn’t been able to hide the strong Russian spice for a long time now. It is certain that at one point, VMRO-DPMNE will be forced to make a maneuver and (only fictively) will give up its mother Russia and will attempt to present its “struggle” as a genuinely ideological one, of course “patriotic”. That is why even the loudest Russian pawns come from the ranks of the party’s grotesque satellites. They will renounce their pro-Russian radicals in the blink of an eye, just like they also renounced their bandits and murderers who attacked the Parliament on April 27. However, the political and espionage-mafia links will remain, because they are deep and inextricable.

Mickoski and his party will do everything in their power to prevent the improvement in the election system and the institutions linked with the electoral processes. His party was destroying the election system for years, because with its capturing, it became one of the sources of their power in the country. Now they will continue with that, so that they can blackmail. And they are not doing this out of love for the usurper of the presidential function, nor are they blocking the process of organizing a referendum out of patriotism. It’s all about calculations. A shaky system and a non-functional election administration gives them the opportunity to complain against the anomalies that they created by themselves. The same goes for all the other processes.

That is why the warnings that the meetings (even the secret ones) between Zaev and Mickoski would not bring anything good and that VMRO-DPMNE is just buying time in order to consolidate and to continue with the destruction, were justified. This lesson is already costing the country very much, and repeating the mistake of communicating with Mickoski outside of the institutions can be destructive to the processes. Especially because behind him and his counterpart in Greece (#MitskoTakis) stands the archenemy of the Western democracy. The Special Prosecutor’s Office, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the courts and the state security bodies have lots of work these days. Let’s hope they are working.
