NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg suggested to Russia that the Russia-NATO Council meeting be held on January 12, 2022, when a meeting of the NATO Military Committee at the level of Chief of General Staff will be held in Brussels, the press service of the Alliance told TASS S.
It is stated that NATO is already in contact with Russia and they are agreeing on the date when the meeting will take place.
Tensions between Russia and NATO have risen over the situation in Ukraine. NATO and the United States have accused Russia of stockpiling troops on its border and plotting an invasion, while Moscow says further enlargement of the alliance would jeopardize its security and require security guarantees from the United States and NATO.
