Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski warned Monday that people violating the self-isolation order after being in contact with an infected person and COVID-19 patients face fines of up to EUR 2,000.
These people could be also considered criminally liable, he noted. They, Spasovski added, put at risk all others and their behavior must be sanctioned.
“I’ve been calling on the citizens to raise awareness and adhere to the measures. It’s necessary to protect ourselves, our families and to protect the country and the citizens, too,” Minister Spasovski told reporters.
Asked about the opening of borders, primarily the Macedonian-Kosovo border, he said that health authorities were in charge of solving the issue. “Any decision will be made to be the most appropriate to protect public health,” Spasovski responded.
