SHEKULI: Today at the EU Summit, Berisha has called for a protest on the boulevard of “Deshmoret e Kombit” (Heroes of the nation)
“On the same day as the high-level meeting between the EU leaders and those of the Western Balkans, the opposition has warned of an organized protest. Former prime minister Sali Berisha, who regained control over the Democratic party, stated that the protests are being organized in defense of European values which, according to him, are endangered by the head of the state.
The opposition demanded for the protest to be held in front of the Government building. However, this demand was rejected by the police, according to which, this space is part of the security perimeter for the high-level meeting”, reported the Albanian daily portal Shekuli.
KOHA: Why does the Vatican not recognize Kosovo?
“In these twenty and so years since the liberation of Kosovo, in addition to Ibrahim Rugova (more than once), Hashim Thaci, Sali Berisha, Fatos Nano, Bujar Nishani, Edi Rama, Isa Mustafa, Ramush Haradinaj, Atifete Jahjaga and others (the list could be longer) have all visited the Pope in Rome, but none of them, with a single word have requested from the head of the Holy See to recognize the Republic of Kosovo as a state. They have given gifts, invitations for visits, have generally spoken about the good relations with the Holy See and so on, but have kept silent about the main issue or ignored the recognition of Kosovo by the Vatican!”, writes Agim Vinca in the column “Why the Vatican does not recognize Kosovo?- A letter from Pristina for an important visit and dignified behavior“ in the Kosovo daily Koha.
JAVA NEWS: 24 hours European capital
“Albania has been under cyber-attack for several months now, the goal of which is destabilizing the country by Iran, and is also under pressure of the Russian influence in politics, to be a country that must redirect its policies towards the West, especially for major reforms in the country, as were the reforms in the judiciary.
And because of this reason, as President of the European Council Charles Michel said, the Summit between the leaders of the European Union and of the Western Balkans has its own symbolism, to show the presence of the European Union in the heart of the Balkans”, writes Mero Base in the column “24 hours European capital“.
