OPINION Scandalous meeting between Zaev and Stoltenberg

What does this Prime Minister Zaev want to say and achieve? Not only is he not allowing us to croak from the coronavirus, but he’s also providing assistance from NATO, and now he wants us to die miserably out of boredom! This is not the way to go! The Balkan region doesn’t know, nor should know about a predictable, perspective and tangible future. From the primeval time to now, we’ve all been living in a region where it’s never boring, but more like in a bloody crime-action film.

Really scandalous! To begin with, that NATO Secretary General, the Norwegian Jens Stoltenberg, invited Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev in Brussels at a joint press conference. How could he? And not like the order is with the Balkan “figures”, he didn’t sit him down on a chair like a pupil, but rather they both stood before the world public, equal.

And then imagine, Stoltenberg wished Zaev a happy birthday in front of the entire world. What an overstepping of authority! But this isn’t the first time Stoltenberg has acted so friendly towards our country. Before the pandemic, we remember quite well the sincere handshakes and hugs between him and our Prime Minister. Just like with Merkel, Mogherini and many more. Awful! And then tweets, praises, expressions of support, and even 60 respirators as a donation. Horrifying! We haven’t experienced anything like this as a state. And it’s not the first time and it’s not only from Stoltenberg.

Before we used to live nicely in isolation. Dr. Mugabe was our friend, for example. And Orban. And a Macedonian Prime Minister used to courteously pay a hundred and more thousand dollars to have his picture taken with a state official from the US or Europe. That’s how it should be done! If I want to have my picture taken with an important world figure, I will pay. Macedonian citizens want to keep the isolation, Yugoslavia in their name and to pay for photographing of the prime minister.

Zaev is the problem! Ever since he appeared, he’s always greeting and hugging world statesmen, for free! That’s not only overstepping of authority, but it’s also shameful. Not only that, but he’s also receiving huge financial, political and expert support from them. And not for himself, as is the order, but for the state treasury. One simply loses their power of speech when one sees how a Macedonian prime minister and the Macedonian state get compliments. It’s nonsense, really…

Stoltenberg is another world figure who, for the second time (!), has come out at a joint press conference with this prime minister of ours who, it has to be said again, doesn’t give a single penny to take pictures with Westerners. Never mind that, Stoltenberg talks about important world political and military issues at that conference, thereby giving significance to the entire event. He talks about the missions of the Macedonian Army, pays respect and recognition to our contribution to NATO as a country that takes part in the creating of policies and strategies, lectures Trump on the military mission in Afghanistan. Not to mention the recognitions about the important role of our country in the fight against fake news and other hybrid threats against democracy. Simply awful!

Stoltenberg obviously showed Zaev that NATO supports him and our country, so he congratulated him on his re-election as prime minister. How rude!

This prime minister of ours, on the other hand, answered back with determination for values and integration. “The basic values that include the internal political priorities of all countries in the region, is based on guaranteeing a predictable, perspective and tangible future for our citizens”.

What does this Prime Minister Zaev want to say and achieve? Not only is he not allowing us to croak from the coronavirus, but he’s also providing assistance from NATO, and now he wants us to die miserably out of boredom! This is not the way to go! There’s no sense now, all of a sudden, to stand shoulder to shoulder with the developed Western countries that are ruled by democracy, security and prosperity. It just doesn’t seem like us! It’s contrary to our traditional values and historical benefits of the ruling of characters who honestly pay to have their picture taken with world politicians.

Resignation of both Stoltenberg and Zaev needs to be urgently demanded for the rude attitude towards the traditions distinctive for our history from ancient times to now.
