PM-designate Zoran Zaev announced that in addition to the economy and integrations, restoring the rule of law and an independent judiciary will also be a priority of the government.
He announced a strong fight against corruption, the introduction of an efficient legal system, and that all judges who have been keeping cases in their drawers will be dismissed.
“A time of order, justice and discipline is coming, respect for the judiciary and cleansing the judiciary system. The first step has been made by the Anticorruption commission, while the Judicial Council has announced an investigation into the obsolete cases. Judges for whom it will be determined that they have delayed cases will be dismissed. We are establishing a system of checking the money and capital of officials. For the first time, the government is receiving a deputy prime minister for combatting corruption, who will be coordinating all the institutions. A strong and efficient legal system is important for the state, for the citizens, but also for the integration process”, stated Zaev in today’s speech before the MPs.
