EXHIBITION Portraying a history through the US presidents

Under the auspices of Mayor Maksim Dimitrievski and the Municipality of Kumanovo, with the exhibition of portraits of 45 US presidents, work of artist Borce Todoroski from Prilep, Kumanovo marked 500 years of existence, and at the same time wished the United States a Happy 4th of July, and thanked them for their support to our country and to Kumanovo.

“I had the opportunity three years ago, in direct communication on the social networks, to meet Borce Todoroski, which only confirms what has been long said that real values are left and that real artists do not speak very much, but they seriously do create. In that communication I asked him how he creates. He invited me to be his guest and I was able to see his work. He showed me part of these wonderful portraits. I said to myself this is impossible. Yes, he said, I spent over two years painting these great figures and great men. Tonight before us we have 45 portraits of US presidents. Some of them are specific, but definitively great figures from the world history… It is a great honour to be a host of such an amazing exhibition, and I hope that the same will encourage many young people to create in the style of Borce Todoroski”, said Maksim Dimitrievski, Mayor of the Municipality of Kumanovo, opening the exhibition “Portraits of US presidents” of Borce Todoroski, which reflect the US history and policy, made with graphite drawing technique.

Dimitrievski said that around 3000 people from Kumanovo work within the civil services for support of US peacekeeping missions throughout the world, pointing out the friendship between the US and North Macedonia. At the same time Dimitrievski highlighted that this event is part of the marking of 500 years of the existence of the city of Kumanovo. He hopes that the American public will also be able to see the exhibition.

The inspiration for paying respect in such a way to a great nation comes primarily from studying the American culture and history and their contribution to setting the foundations to the democratic modern societies.

The artist himself hopes that his work will create interest and will be welcomed not only among American friends, but also among art lovers. Todoroski worked two years on making portraits of all the US presidents, from George Washington to current President Donald Trump.
