At the CIVIL conference “Perspectives 2021”, the President of the State Election Commission, Oliver Derkoski, for the beginning of the new 2021 warned that we must work quickly to form a new composition of the SEC, educate the election administration and not remain passive in this process . Otherwise, as Derkoski says, we will face unforeseen challenges, primarily for the local elections.
“Since January, the state no longer has a State Election Commission, it remains without a mandate, there are no Municipal Election Commissions, there are no election boards, everyone’s mandate expires. So, who will hold local elections next year, should be decided quickly in Parliament, to intervene when educating the election boards, because the way they are elected now, by lot, and then involving some political parties it still takes time for their education,” said Derkoski.
