President Stevo Pendarovski met Monday with the visiting Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Ivan Korčok.
At the meeting, they confirmed the friendly relations between the two countries, noting that political dialogue and high-level visits between the two countries should intensify once the pandemic subsides.
President Pendarovski, his cabinet said, thanked for the strong Slovak support for our European integration process.
“We highly appreciate the strong, continuous and unequivocal support from Slovakia, which is our important partner and supporter for European integration, a strong partner in NATO, and I hope that we will continue to nurture our partnership within the European Union,” Pendarovski noted.
Pendarovski voiced interest in deepening the cooperation, especially in the sphere of economy, which has not reached its full potential, although bilateral trade has expanded steadily in the last 5-6 years. In that regard, Pendarovski expressed the expectation that the investments of Slovak companies in our country will increase, especially after becoming a NATO member and the progress made towards the EU.
Pendarovski and Korčok also discussed the concrete issues around handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in the two countries.
Moreover, Pendarovski thanked for the Slovak support and donations to health system, the press release said.
