This year we celebrate the first anniversary of the country’s full-fledged NATO membership. Today, North Macedonia is part of the transatlantic family, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with allies, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said ahead of Tuesday’s meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at the level of Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
“We share common values, focusing on protecting common security. By promoting NATO’s values in the region, we contribute to overcoming common challenges together,” Osmani pointed out.
The NAC meeting will be held in person at the Alliance’s HQ in Brussels.
Foreign Ministers will tackle the NATO 2030 Initiative, the Alliance’s future geostrategic role and management with future security challenges, as well as adopt several related decisions.
Minister Osmani will be North Macedonia’s first political representative to attend a meeting of the North Atlantic Council in person since the country joined NATO in March 2020. At the meeting sidelines, FM Osmani will meet counterparts of NATO member-states and partners, reads a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
