News of the day – Derkovski: The SEC is prepared to conduct elections with open lists as well
The State Elections Commission is prepared to conduct parliamentary elections according to any model for which an agreement will be reached between the political parties, including also for a model with open electoral lists, stated today the President of the SEC, Oliver Derkovski.
We as an institution are prepared, he added. We are working continuously and are prepared to implement what the political parties will agree on.
In terms of what model, according to him, would be the best, Derkovski outlined that his opinion actually is not relevant, since it is an agreement of the political parties.
The President of the SEC stressed that the Voters Register is also in order and that there are no so-called phantom voters.
Many problems have been noted that prevent people with disabilities of participating in elections
From the Association for promotion and development of inclusive society INKLUZIVA, which also prepared the Report, they say that election boards do not have sufficient skills for supporting these persons at the very polling stations.
Blagica Dimitrievska, President of INKLUZIVA, said that as an association they recommend for the Government to take measures for harmonization of the legislation with the UN Convention, to have changes made to the Electoral Code for ensuring the right to vote of persons with disabilities who live in institutions or rehabilitation centers, in their place of residence, as well as introducing a criterion for accessibility to the facilities where the voting is being organized. There is also a request for the SEC’s website to be accessible also to persons with disabilities, to educate the election boards in regards to the rights of persons with disabilities, and for the SEC to introduce special records for these persons as voters.

From a corner: Hard time for the macedonianism
By Zoran Ivanov
“Macedonianism and patriotism in election arrangements, in blackmail of voters, in suspicious arrests, in tampering trials. Macedonianism of privileges, of corrupt and unpunished politicians. We heard and saw. They revealed the bombs, exposed their and his macedonianisms and their and his patriotisms.
Now again with the same trickeries. Patriotism and macedoniansm. After someone else completed for him nationally sensitive, agonising, painful and traumatic matters such as the ones with bilingualism and the agreements with the neighbours for unblocking the integrations, now, in Don Quixote style, he will be restoring the state, will be returning macedoniansm”.
DPMNE-ish cannibalism
By Мilan Banov
“So, for years we have been following the “ball under words” of those who work, and even make a living out of their voice, and, at least for me, that “political language” of many Macedonian politicians, primarily of the ones of VMRO-DPMNE, didn’t differ much and doesn’t differ much from the one mentioned in the brilliant sociological essay “Do you speak politically” by Slobodan Inic.
Normally, present even now, confirms today’s disease of the speech and precisely identifies the phases it goes through. For example, the first one worries us, but already indicates that the person is infected by the disease, which is manifested by the symptoms “everything is clear” and “omniscience”, that is to say, speaks about everything and knows everything, as a result of the secretion of the modesty gland. In the second phase, the disease grows, the patient starts speaking all kinds of stuff, while the function of the gland known as intelligence stops working”.
