Derkoski: We need help from additional administrative capacity
“Changing the electoral model certainly does bring certain disruptions in the organization and implementation of the elections, and that is why there are certain standards prescribed by OSCE and ODIHR in terms that such changes to an electoral model should not be made at least one year before elections, and that should be taken into account. Even though we could adapt to the newly-emerged situation, there will, however, be certain shifts in terms of the organization and implementation of the elections. The decision, nonetheless, rests on the political factors that practically carry the burden of organizing and implementing elections and the electoral model”, adds Derkoski.

Uncle (Raskovski) send flyers!
“I still don’t quite understand the total math in this, for us, ‘free’ flying business plan. But it is clear that the manner in which the Government, with (unnecessary?) hiding of complete information, is communicating the project to the public leads to a new, sweet, pre-election political-corruption scandal that will only grow in the public, just as dough rises when it is baked”, writes Saso Ordanoski.
It’s not the model, rather the capacity
“Just as they are afraid of elections, they are even more afraid of one constituency. And one constituency is space where every vote of every citizen is effective and where the will of every voter is effective. Well, yes, the big ones will lose some of their decade-long power. And as for the small ones, they are small because it wasn’t them who decided so, but the citizens. They don’t deserve protection. Among them also soloists, quite a bit unrealistically ambitious and present in politics of no use. Family parties that are going back and forth through pluralism for two, three decades. But whatever, it’s democracy, right”, writes Zoran Ivanov.
