Zaev will discuss with Mitsotakis the Prespa Agreement, NATO and EU

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said that the upcoming NATO Summit and the implementation of the Prespa Agreement will certainly be some of the topics that will be discussed today in Thessaloniki with Mitsotakis, even though they are participating in an economic forum.

Zaev: Cooperation with Russia does not mean an alternative to EU and NATO

Reactivating the Joint Intergovernmental Commission with Russia does not mean any supposed response to the EU, but only commitments for intensifying the economic cooperation, said Prime Minister Zoran Zaev after today’s Macedonian-Russian business forum in Skopje. In response to a journalist question whether China and Russia can be an option if we do not receive a date for start of negotiations with the EU, Zaev stressed that the only alternative for our country are NATO and the EU.

“Titanic” case witness: More than 100 people from Pustec registered on three addresses

With the hearing of a witness employed in Police Station Resen, today the trial for the “Titanic” case election irregularities continued in the Criminal Court Skopje.

Witness Agron Kranlievski, in reply to a question from prosecutor Lile Stefanova, said that since 2012 he had been given more than 100 people to check on three addresses.

Azeski: The Przino government is disrupting the normal functioning

A real dialogue is needed on every issue with businesses, seriousness in that process by both sides and predictability of the business climate, and not disruption in the normal functioning by forming a technical government according to the Przino Agreement three months before elections. It should be said how long these provisions are going to be valid, said today the President of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia, Branko Azeski.

Democratic societies are affected by data abuse and fake news

Democratic societies nowadays are affected by data abuse and fake news. Hence, the biggest challenge for societies is how to deal with the abuses, without at the same endangering freedom of expression. Because of this, media literacy should be part of the teaching process, but also an activity of the entire society. These are the conclusions of the two-day conference “Media Literacy Days 2019”, which is being held in the Agency for Audiovisual and Media Services.

Work of the Directorate for personal data protection before a blockade

Political outwitting of the biggest political parties in Parliament, unwillingness and inability to find a compromise for the Auditor General and several other managerial positions are questioning the functioning of the State Audit Office, the Directorate for personal data protection is before a blockade, while citizens and NGOs cannot realise their rights on the basis of receiving public information or discrimination. There are vacancies that need to be filled in other bodies as well, such as AAVMS, MRTV…, but the Parliamentary Committee on Election and Appointment Issues needs to meet for this, in which neither the ruling parties, nor the opposition have a majority.

FLASH NEWS

The Government today through a statement most strongly condemned the attack on the journalists that took place last night in Skopje, and assessed these incidents as unacceptable and inadmissible.

The Food and Veterinary Agency (AHV) is appealing to pet owners to take advantage of the opportunity for free microchipping of animals until the end of the year. For this purpose, the AHV has provided 100.000 microchips, as part of the activities for implementing the three-year Strategy for Welfare of Animals.

In the country there are conditions, political will and commitment by all for economic development, in which of key importance will be the youth, who need to stay here and take advantage of the opportunities for personal and social development. It is necessary to continue the fight against corruption, for there to be full implementation of the rule of law, consistent application of the laws. Businesses need to raise their voice and give initiatives, was said today at the opening of the Macedonia Summit 2025.

SCAN – POLITICAL MAGAZINE: ELECTORAL REFORMS WITHOUT REFORMS

What do you say we let the chicken rest and deal with the egg?

by: SASO ORDANOSKI

The way in which the judiciary has fundamentally corrupted itself in the past three decades, with the masterly mortal ending in the time of Gruevski’s rule, was a necessary process for redistribution of power to be carried out, and by this also of the capital in the state. Accordingly, our primary problem is how, in politics, power is acquired and distributed, and after that, how justice is handed out in the country…

“Night of the Long Knives” in front of the State Election Commission in 2016…the parliament… “Tirana Platform” … “Stop operation Soros” (just after having “resurrected” again) … Hundreds of processions, composed of several people and benches torn down in Park Women Warrior… The terror and attempts for assassination on MPs and political leaders on April 27, 2017… The offensive against the Prespa Agreement… The offensive against the friendship agreement with Bulgaria… Should I keep numbering? The list is long.
